Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actor, dancer, and singer. Her early Broadway roles included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for the role of Essie Carmichael. She was in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor as well as actress has worked with actors, directors, and directors on both screen and stage throughout all of her career. Ashford is scheduled to be starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu special series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford's current project will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and starring Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. In the form of a Hulu Original, the film will be available on Disney DTC's platforms. Ashford is set to return in 2023 and will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for an upcoming revival production of Stephen Sondheim Sweeney Todd. This production will be directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who brought you Hamilton. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the crisis that took place in the year 2000. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp were the principal characters of the first ever impeachment hearing in America. She starred in two seasons of the cult CBS comedy B Positive. It was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also featured Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. In addition, she was on Broadway with her roles in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original role in the role of Lauren In Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for the Tony Award. Ashford, who was raised in Denver is now a resident traveling between Los Angeles & New York.
